Chef Scott Sharkey Brings Meals to the Table for Local Families
When local chef Scott Sharkey was growing up in Douglas, Massachusetts, his mother’s shepherd pie was his family’s absolute favorite dish. To this day, he remembers the taste of it and why he loved it.
“It’s all one dish—meat, veggies and potatoes—comfort food all in one dish,” he muses. “Food is like a time machine. There are certain dishes that bring you back to childhood.”
Now Sharkey, owner of Hey What’s 4 Dinner, is creating memorable meals for his own family and families in his community.
“Our mission is to bring families back to the dinner table serving healthy meals,” he says. “No shopping, cooking or cleaning is necessary. Simply order online at HeyWhats4Dinner.com by 9 p.m. the day prior to delivery.”
Sharkey says he believes it is important for families to gather around the table and enjoy meals together.
“Good food puts everyone in a good mood and creates positive memories,” he says. “I remember helping my mom in the kitchen all the time. It felt good to cook for someone because they appreciated it.”
The dish that best speaks to Sharkey’s family and has become a household favorite is his New York-style meat sauce, which he serves with pasta.
“It’s fun watching my wife and kids argue over who is going to get the last serving of spaghetti and meat sauce.”
