Let the good times roll all season long
Looking for some fun family activities, or maybe a romantic date-night spot? You’re in luck. We’ve rounded up some perfect events and locations to make the most of summer.
Lakeside Music Series
The Lakeside Music Series has been entertaining local families, friends and couples since July 2016. The free outdoor concerts are offered at 7:30 p.m. every Friday evening through November at the Shops at Lakeside. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy the entertainment on the lawn.
“Surrounded by shops, restaurants and urban structures, the plaza provides an intimate musical experience with wonderful acoustics, plus an entertaining street life and lots of people-watching,” says David Stewart, a managing partner of Lakeside DFW Land, Ltd. “The musicians attract listeners of all age groups from Flower Mound and surrounding cities, so you’re bound to see some old friends.”

Doubletree Ranch Park
Located in Highland Village, Doubletree Ranch Park offers nearly a mile of walking trails, a sprawling lawn, a soccer complex, a large picnic pavilion and an impressive splash pad with 15 water features served by 66 spray features and a waterfall.
“It is the perfect spot for families to spend time together for hours,” says Phil Lozano, director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Highland Village.
Doubletree Ranch has become a major local attraction since opening last year.
“It is the ‘crown jewel’ in our park system and is quickly becoming a destination spot for the region,” Phil says.

Flower Mound Farmers Market
Open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. each Saturday, the Flower Mound Farmers Market in Parker Square is more than just a shopping experience — it’s a family adventure. The European-style market offers something for everyone, with children’s activities and 25 to 35 vendors each week, year-round.
“The Flower Mound Market is now almost 2 years old, and it has been very well received,” says Matt Brown of Four Seasons Markets.
In an effort to engage the community even more, Brown says the Flower Mound Farmers Market now offers its SELECT membership program. Shoppers can register for a free membership and use their cellphone for making purchases, tracking market spending, connecting with vendors, getting deals and earning rewards redeemable for cash toward future purchases.
