Cross Timbers Rotary and a cadre of exceptional community business sponsors brought to life the inaugural Rhythms at the River Walk event on Sept. 15. A 5K, a family-friendly walk, artists and vendors, food trucks and a children's area delighted festival attendees, but the highlight was the Duck Derby featuring 15,000 ducks! More than $137,000 was raised to support Denton County charities.
Lewisville ISD Education Foundation (LEF) awarded 64 grants totaling $92,780 to teachers across LISD to kick off the 2018-2019 school year. Grants covered the full scope of subjects: STEM-related learning, music, physics, robotics, theater, and more. Fallen soldiers were remembered during a Memorial Day program that featured the Flower Mound Fire Honor Guard, patriotic music, bagpipers, a wreath presentation and keynote speakers from the military and local leaders.
